The newly elected Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (Ompan) Mr Promise Uzoma Okoro PUO has promised to revive the association by ensuring competence.
Uzoma who disclosed this in his speech shortly after he was declared a winner assures that he will ride on the strength of the immediate past chairman Mr Paddy Anyatonwu as well as Strived on his weakness to ensure a better Ompan.
During his acceptance speech today at Evergreen Hotel Umuahia,he declared the outcome of the general election as transparent while commending the Chairman of the Electoral Committee,Ugochukwu Nwankwo.
Mr Promise Okoro polled a total of 24 votes to emerge as the new Chairman while Clinton Uba polled 10 votes to come second position
According to him, “Nneka Torti emerged the Vice Chairman, Dr Steve Unegbu the General Secretary, Chibuzor Aguwa the Financial Secretary, Stanley Nwokonko the Welfare Officer, Nwadiuto Mabel Okugo,the Treasurer and Loveday Chidi the Public Relation Officer, all returned unopposed”
Mr Promise Okoro further expressed appreciation for emerging the new chairman, assuring that, his administration will chart a new course for OMPAN Abia chapter.
He reaffirmed his commitment to serve OMPAN with sincerity, while pledging not to disappoint the association.
Continuing, he pleaded his opponent Mr Clinton Uba to work assiduously to move the association to an enviable height for the growth and development of OMPAN.
He therefore, thanked the Electoral Committee members for conducting a peaceful election as well as the Elders of the association for ensuring that the two major contenders for the position of chairmanship signed a Peace Accord and urged all to sheathe their swords for peace to reign.
In his speech,the out going Chairman Chief Paddy Anyatonwu, thank God for a successful end of his tenure as the OMPAN chairman and expressed gratitude to the Electoral Committee members for conducting a free fair and successful election that will usher in a executive officials for the association.
The National President Comrade Eme James expressed excitement over the election exercise adding that the person that emerged was because the association wants him to lead them now, while urging the other opponent to accept the outcome and move on as there will be next opportunity for him to also emerged.
He encouraged members of Ompan Abia State to always come out during meetings stressing that with the new Ompan the association will be great again.
He thanked the electoral committee for their efforts in conducting the election promised to work with the association in any xpxity he is called upon.
