Ochiagha Okpara Ukwu Ibeku,Prince Benjamin Benedict Apugo has condoned with the family of late.former governor of Abia State and Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,Dr Ogbonnaya Onu.

Apugo while going down memory lane on Dr Onu’s emergence as Abia governor shared with newsstatlet the noble character of the deceased .
He escribed the demise of Dr.Ogbonnaya Onu as a great loss not just to Ebonyi State people and Nigeria but to Abia State as a whole .
Also,taking cognizance of his role in the emergence of Dr. Onu as the first Democratically elected governor of Abia from January 1992 to November 1993, B.B Apugo added that Ogbonnaya Onu will be remembered for his exemplified humility, having served Abia meritoriously without looting the States treasury like others who followed after him.
He urged Onu’s family and Ebonyi people to be fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“I contributed in making him the governor of Abia State which everybody know”.
“To me ,it was a big shock because last New Yarm Festival of Ibeku which everybody knows the tune it takes, he brought me Palm Wine amongst other things”.
“His death is a very big loss to me,Abia and Nigeria as a whole “.
“He’s a humble man and didn’t loot Abia like the ones who came after him who robbed and looted Abia putting us in this mess that we’re in today “.
Prince Apugo further urged Politicians in Nigeria and Abia to emulate Dr.Ogbonnaya Onu’s transparent leadership which never embezzled any fund during his administration as Abia governor but served Abians with humility and honesty.
Ochiagha Okpara Ukwu Ibeku who expressed satisfaction with the governance of Dr.Alex Otti,urged the governor to do more in infrastructural development in Umuahia,the State Capital of Abia as well as recover Abia properties sold by past administration.
