Security Expert and Interpol consultant Sir Chikwe Udensi has urged the Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu to take a cue from other South Eastern States governors who had made progress in terms of infrastructure in order to do better.
Udensi who was reacting to the recent news of the Commissioning of Osisioma Ngwa Flyover, added that Abia government ought to have done better looking at the similarities of resources with other neighbouring states who have utilized their resources to build more Flyovers are executed bigger projects like EBONYI and Anambra States.
He says Abia making more money through internally generated revenue, it’s commercial nature and getting allocation from the federation account ought to have done more in infrastructural development.
The Security expert who was speaking on his mid-week Radio programme monitored by newsstarlet, noted that comparing Six years of the completion of the Osisioma Flyover with other States who had done more projects of that nature should be a thing of concern to Ikpeazu than making exaggeration of one Flyover.
He questions the amount of money expended in completion of the Flyover .
Sir Udensi also expressed reservation with the cost of constructing the flyover which according to him was initially quoted to cost N1.4bn according to information from a former Attorney General of the state.
He said he’s surprised that the actual contract award hit N4bn, urging the state government to reveal the actual cost of the project.
“How much did we use in building the Flyover”, he questioned .
Udensi believes that everybody is looking for the progress of Abia as most of the criticisms at the governor were meant to bring the best of the State, saying that the governor needs to display some level of sincerity in carrying out his duties as the Chief Executive of the State .
He maintained that there’s need for a very strong opposition for things to work rightly, while he called on Ikpeazu to emulate Governor Nyesom Wike’s records on payments of Salaries , payment of pensions and other achievements .
Udensi further called on Ikpeazu to coordinate himself by behaving according to the office he occupy as a governor when he comes to the public , saying that the problems in Abia State is so much and therefore requires seriousness and serious minded people with competence to handling it.
“When you are refered as his Excellency,you should be excellent in your character ,you should be excellent in your ways and you behavior.”
Reacting to the issue of the internal wrangling within the All Progressive Grand Alliance, Udensi stressed the need for the implementation of court order , adding that Prince Nnanna Ukaegbu is the Chairman of the party while responding to his alleged suspension by the Augustine Ehiemere led faction of the party.
