Young People Must Avoid Crime And Fraud If They Wants To Uphold Tradition -B.B.Apugo

Ochiagha Oparaukwu Ibeku Prince Benjamin Benedict Apugo has urged the Young people to keep their hands clean and avoid doing evil but instead follow the Custom of their respective traditions in doing good.

Apugo who spoke at his residence on Monday,25th August 2025 expressed excitement at the conduct of Ibeku New Yam Festival maintained that every Igbo man now knows his roots contrary to the notions that people are losing touch with tradition.

He added that Tradition remains the way of life while he advice Young people not to involve in illegal or fraudulent activities in order not to attract the rage from the Gods of the Land.

Apugo Performing The Traditional Rites Before The Yam Festival


He thanked God for the Year 2025 New Yam Festival of Ibeku which witnessed a bumper Harvest saying that every Ibeku person is a farmer as he has exemplified with the Festival.

He added that his dedication and passion towards community development has been the drive towards sustaining the Ibeku Culture,adding that it’ll go on from generation to generation.

The 2025 New Yam Festival was said to be the most captivating with the procession of Ochiagha’s entourage to Egwu Ibeku,the Ancestral Land preserved and the Youths chatting Songs in the Streets of Umuahia all through the day.

The coming days would be different Communities across Ibeku celebrating their new Yam Festival in turns.

The Festival also had some Masquerades from Akwa lbom State.
