In the brewing controversy over the death of late traditional ruler of Ntalakwu-Oboro, His Royal Highness Eze Samuel Ajiri, the wife Ugoeze Chinwe Ajiri has spoken about her ordeal in the hands of the Police IPO and OC in charge of the case brought against her by the kinsmen of the late monarch.
According to her in an interview, she was dehumanized, brutalized and subjected to unimaginable trauma by officers of the Zone 9 Police Command in n’Umuahia, who she alleged, had worked in connivance with the kinsmen, whose sole aim is to deposes her and her children all that the late Eze left behind.

While narrating her ordeal to a reporter, she stated how she was kept in the police cell at the old Zone 9, office at Ehimiri Housing Estate for 9 days without allowing her to get in touch with any legal representative.
She further stated that she was still kept behind even after a Police officer asked that she be allowed to go home even as she disclosed that all efforts by her lawyers to come into the matter suffered huge setbacks before they forced her to pay for transport and other logistics to the hospital , she claimed that her husband was treated before his demise, amounting N300,000
After visiting the hospitals, including Rivers State Teaching Hospital, they took her to her home in Port Harcourt and forced her to open the doors for them to carry out a search even without a search warrant, just as the kinsmen, including one Nduka Okoroacha, who accompanied them in the journey demanded for particulars of all the vehicles they saw inside the compound, as well as the papers of a housing estate, they claimed the late monarch built somewhere.
In the process, they turned the entire house upside down, even as she accousted one of the police men who was part of the team, who took away a bundle of a hundred thousand naira Ugoeze Ajiri left on her dressing cupboard in her room.
She was later taken on bail but was forced to pay N2million for that just as the OC, one Ifeyinwa, asked her to get the death certificate from the hospital, even as she was released her five days after paying for the bail
She later petitioned office of the IG in Abuja, expressing her dismay at the handling of the matter at Zone 9, even as the case was minuted to Force CID Annex in Enugu.
In all Zone 9 refused to cooperate with the Force CID Annex and after seeing that there was no headway, she then petitioned the Police Service Commission who are currently making inroad in the case.
Meanwhile, checks has shown that a couple of disgruntled elements within the community are still conniving with the Police to cause more disaffection and disunity in the family
