The Traditional Ruler,Eze ,Sir Joshua M.N AKOMAS has thrown his weight behind the ongoing urban development and expansion project in Umuahia capital city of Abia State embarked by the governor, Dr, Alex Otti.
While commending the Governor on his uncommon vision for the state, Eze Joshua Akomas with years of executive management experience, asserts that infrastructural developments like the road expansion in the state capital city would definitely pave way for enhanced economic activities and growth within the capital territory and its environs.
He however, enjoined the state government to ensure adequate and commensurate compensation to all affected persons and companies.
“Ndi Ossah as peace loving and forward looking people always support all Government efforts aimed at improving the lot of Ndi Abia”.
He further expressed confidence in the current administration of Dr. Alex Otti and called on his People to cooperate with the government to ensure a smooth and quick completion of the project, hoping that street lightings will be included in the road expansion project.
The traditional ruler in the same developmental vein drew the attention of the State Government to Osaah Community Secondary School, and the need to truly make it a Model college, to adequately serve the community and her neighbors.
“The entire people of Ossah Ibeku Autonomous Community wish to heartily congratulate our amiable governor His Excellency Dr.Alex Chioma Otti and his Deputy Engr ikechukwu Emetu On their emergence as Governor and Deputy Governor of our dear State respectively “.
“It is indeed God’s doing,he said.
“We also wish to commend the government on the decision to rebuild and expand the Ossah-Okpara Square Road, and further appreciate the Governor for appointing one of our illustrious sons Chukwunenye Alajemba Nwaogu into the State Exco”.
On the issue of security, the Eze commended the state Governor on his efforts to secure the State, especially with. the recent launch of OPERATION CRUSH (OC), while also stating that for this operation to be very effective and have a human face, the traditional institution (rulers) being an indispensable integral part of the security architecture must be involved from the on-set.
The Eze also stressed the need for the establishment of a police post within the vicinity of the Express Tower, and the aforementioned model college, to greatly improve security in the ever-busy Abia Tower and environs.
“We are not oblivious of the fact that there is so much to be done with very limited resources and time, but are hopeful that with your wealth of experience in prudent management of scarce resources you will succeed”.
He further called on Ndi Abia both home and in Diaspora to rally round this Government in its determined efforts to give this God’s own state the long awaited enviable all-round facelift.
