2023 AFUGIRI NEW YAM FESTIVAL: ROYAL HIGH CHIEF NDUBUISI NKEMAKOLAM DOLES OUT PLANS FOR INDELIBLE FOOTPRINTS

The Chairman organizing committee Afugiri new yam festival 2023, Royal High Chief Ndubuisi Nkemakolam has pledged his readiness to work beyond clans with other good spirited individuals from across Ohuhu extraction living in America in bringing up more developments to Afugiri and Ohuhu at large.

High Chief Ndubuisi Nkemakolam stated this during an interactive session with Thebridgenewsonline correspondent.

The American based philanthropist emphasized that he will use this year’s festival to attract progressive men and women within and outside the country, who are committed towards the development of Ala Ohuhu.

As the President Ohuhu Development Union New York, High Chief Nkemakolam stated that he is ready and free to interact with his people assuring that he is totally committed to sustainable initiative that will bring development to Afugiri and Ohuhu.

He further encouraged Ohuhu indigenes who are occupying top positions in and outside the country to use their positions to bring about life- transforming projects back home.

An Afugiri born physician Dr Nkwachi Adiele stated that we must do everything within our powers to keep our culture alive, noting that what our forefathers bequeathed us shall not go moribund. While calling on all hands to be on desk towards this laudable mission of using native festival as avenue to bring great transformation in our society.

Contributing, a committee member in the forthcoming auspicious occasion and a pragmatic ohuhu man Royal High Chief Kingsley Megwara maintained that the committee under the chairmanship of High Chief Ndubuisi Nkemakolam means well for our people and have concluded arrangements of rolling out programs and projects that will put smile on the faces of our people individually and collectively.

According to Chief Nkemakolam the organising committee for 2023 Afugiri Iriji will direct all proceeds from this year’s Iriji towards the fencing and renovation of the Afugiri primary school.

In there words, both Dr Obi Akahara and high Chief Uwadi Uwaoma implored Ohuhu sons and daughters at home and in the Diaspora to think home and support the ongoing efforts to rekindle our cultural heritage and enhance development across the various communities in Afugiri The program is slated for the 21st of October, 2023 at Central School Afugiri.

Dignitaries expected includes; The Chief Executive of the State, Governor Alex Otti, member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, High Chief Obi Aguocha, Hon Akaliro Anderson Kelechi member representing Umuahia North State constituency in the State House of Assembly.
