Selfless service and exemplified humility was all the Endearing virtue and qualities possessed by late Sir Dr Albert and Lady Sylvia Uhiara while alive as honest truth wonders if there are still men in the society that could replicate the feats they achieved for humanity without making any noise about it.
Sunday, December 17th,2023 at the St.Peters Anglican Church, Amizi Olokoro in Umuahia South Local government area of Abia State was a special day when the family of late.Sir Dr. Albert Uhiara Dedicated and handed over an Archdeacons house to the Anglican Diocese of Umuahia for a missionary work in the Church just as he (Late Sir Dr Albert Uhiara)would want to see if alive.
This was done in fulfilment of the wishes by the late.Song Bird-Sir .Albert Uhiara.
The sermon by Ven. Ifeanyi Adiele Ironkwe wondered if the society still has men like Sir Albert Uhiara who never fails in his efforts to cater for the downtrodden in spite him not being the wealthiest at the time.
“Albert Uhiara built houses for people,empowered in businesses and paid school fees to many at every academic levels,as it was generally agreed that these kind of individual is rare to find judging from the economic situation of our present society”,he said.
Ven. Ifeanyi enjoined Christians to inculcate the habit of giving, adding that God’s abundance is sure when you give sincerely.
The man of God confessed to many strange calls and commendations he constantly receives -testifying to the generosity of Sir. Albert Uhiara.
He said that virtually everybody who came across the late icon had a thing or two to gain, including himself.
He further frowned at the way privileged people today ignored the poor while they claimed to love God.
He maintained that stinginess will not lead anyone to godliness.
During the memorial service,Bar.Nnachebe and Wife,Dr. Mrs Nwadinma Uhiara flanked by friends , well-wishers, Captains of Industries, businessmen and Women, Academia’s , expressed gratitude to God for strengthning him during the building project and as well making the day a reality.
He also thanked the Clergy for their support and prayers, having acknowledged his satisfaction in ensuring the work of God is sustained in the Archdeaconry to keep his Father’s legacy.
Notable personalities including:Abia State Commissioner for Budget and Planing,Hon. Kingsley Anosike,Former Member Representing Ikwuano /Umuahia Federal Constituency, Oluchi Ibeji, former Abia State Commissioner for Public Utility,Sir Anthony Ezebuiro,Sir Paul Ezeanyagu (PUMECO),President General Olokoro Clan Dike Nzenwa,Ogbuagu Oliver Agbasoga and Chief Bob Nwobi,The Abia State Deputy Commissioner of Police ,DCP Okolo, amongst others graced the occasion.
Ogbuagu Oliver Agbasoga commissioned the Sir Dr Albert and Lady Silvia Uhiara Memorial Archdeacons House in Olokoro.
