The new Transition Chairman of Umuahia South Local Government Area,Bar.Nnachebe Uhiara has promised to work for the improvement of the local government and to ensure the aims and objectives of the government towards grassroots development are implemented.
Bar.Uhiara made this known during the official handover at the local government secretariat in Ubakala.
He assured them of open arms to their ideas and quality contributions which will drive the local government to success
Speaking earlier,the Head of Service Umuahia South Local Government,Mrs Jane onwutuele while handing over the seal of the council to the Chairman,assures him support from the entire Staff members of the local government will support him
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has said that his determination to serve Abia remains unshaken as the last lap of his administration is poised towards ensuring completion of key projects.
The governor who made this during the inauguration of the new transitional Committee chairmen urged them to derive impetus from the critical stakeholders and political key players for proper interface in order to improve the electoral fortunes in their respective local governments.
He further asked them to serve as a blessing to his government and the candidates which he says will certainly come with rewards
“You are carefully brought in this time because we’re confident that you’ll deliver and be a blessing to the candidates that are vying for different political positions.”
“Do not use your positions as vendetta or personal interest.”
The occasion witnessed the presence of Bar.Chris Ezem, Secretary to the State government,Bar.Jerry Uzosike,the member Representing Umuahia South State Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly,former Member Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency,Uluocha Ibeji, Pastor Emeka Inyama, Chairman Abia Warriors , Chief Tony Ukasanya ,Sir Tony Ezebuiro, Ndukwe Adindu,Chief Charles Ekwueme, traditional rulers in Umuahia South Local Government Area and other PDP stalwarts.
