I Inherited Farming From My Parents -Apugo

Ochiagha Oparaukwu Ibeku Prince Benjamin Benedict Apugo has dispelled assertions about Ibeku people celebrating New Yam Festival without harvesting Yam, adding that Ibeku are more Famers than any other parts of Ikwuano/Umuahia.

Contrary to general opinion that Ibeku people does not plant Yam but makes so much noise at the Yam Festival was finally settled by Prince Benjamin Benedict Apugo.
Apugo who was speaking during the Ibeku New Yam Festival said that he inherited 45 percent of the Yam in his Farm today from his parents when they were alive, adding that he has a Farmland where he cultivates Yam and other Agricultural produce in Alulu.

The 2024 Ibeku New Yam Festival was said to be One of the most exciting in the recent time with the presence of dignitaries within and outside Nigeria.

Abia State governor,DrAlex Otti represented by his Deputy Engr.Ikechukwu Emetu,Hon.Obi Aguocha, Member/Representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency amongst others.

There were Masquerades and display of Ohafia War Dance and many other dance and musical Cultural groups.
