The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu has reaffirmed that the enthronement of good governance that will lead to the development of Ohafia and Abia at large is not negotiable.
Engr Emetu who made this known when a delegation of the Ohafia School Of Thoughts paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Umuahia vowed that as one of them, he is irrevocably committed to ensuring the positive change that will come to Ohafia is actualized starting with the reticulation of power supply back to Ohafia and environs by next month.
The Deputy Governor further announced that, recognizing the potentials Ohafia is blessed with such as large deposits of limestone, Government is looking forward to the establishment of a cement factory which will have the capacity of creating over 36 thousand job opportunities for the teeming youths as well as attract influx of investors from the banking and industrial sector to turn the area into a metropolitan city.
He reaffirmed the determination of the Governor, Dr Alex Otti’s resolve to fulfill all the promises made to the people of Ohafia and Abians and commended the efforts the members of the Ohafia School Of Thoughts made to ensure their overwhelming success at the polls, while soliciting for more prayers to enable them deliver on their mandate.
In their address earlier, the Secretary of the Body, The Rev Ikechukwu Ebi said the Ohafia School Of Thoughts is a body of intellectuals with the objective of championing the development of Ohafia and congratulated Governor Alex Otti and his Deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu on their resounding victory and successful swearing in.
He disclosed that they were resolved in their determined efforts to effect positive change in Abia by voting massively to ensure the victory of Labour Party at all levels and commended the excellent take off strides of the present administration and wished them a developmental oriented tenure.
