Security expert and Interpol Systems Consultant Sir Chikwe Udensi has reacted to the Project Commissioning event of Abia State government where President Tinubu was set to commission but sent Minister For Works Senator.Dave Umahi to commission last Friday 3rd October, 2025 where the Deputy Speaker Federal House of Representatives,RT.Hon.Benjamin Kalu at the event urged Governor .Alex .Otti to give credit to President .Bola .Tinubu who removed Fuel Subsidy and through it the State government had more money in their allocations to do projects.
Udensi who was speaking on Love FM radio programme Open parliament on Wednesday monitored by Newsstarlet said the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives,Benjamin Kalu was right in his honest assessment of the State in the areas of infrastructure looking at what is coming into the State as revenue allocation.
He said the project meant for the President to commission was not legendary enough even for the governor to commission but added that it is something that State commissioner, permanent secretary of Ministries were supposed to commission such .
He further maintained that the local government Chairmen in Abia should be allowed to utilise their allocations for grassroots development.
“Which of the project there is legendary “Which of these project is something that is away from the ordinary ?
“It’s something that ought to be taken for granted”,he said.
“It is something that is the commissioner or Maybe the Perm Sec or a Director from the Ministry of works that is the person that is supposed to go and commission a thing like that “.
“Not even the governor because it is nothing legendary” it is nothing extraordinary especially if you consider the amount and enormous resources that is coming like now to States , Local Government and the Federal Government “.
While he condemned the outright abuse on the personality of the Deputy Speaker by the spokesman of the governor who labelled him ignorant and arrogant ,the security expert maintained that the governor Alex Otti must call his aides to order and should not allow Abians with meaningful contributions for the progress of the State to be insulted by his Aides as such utterances coming from them does not bequeath their position as the spokespersons of government.
He said that no amount of abuse by Alex Otti ‘s Aides would prevent people from questioning his accountability when it comes to the way and manner he has handled the State’s resources under his control.
“The governor’s sides cannot continue to be insulting people who are questioning his accountability”.
He said that Abia and other State’s who have armtwisted the local government are not learning from Enugu State.
“Abia and other State’s who have armtwisted the local government are not learning from Enugu State”.
“If you check the resources that is now available to them, you’ll see the need to criticize both Federal,States and local government maybe except Enugu State local government where local government Chairmen are constructing Roads because the governor is allowing them to have their monies but for Abia and other States there’s nothing happening in Local Government”.
“When they repaint an old building it is celebrated “.
“It is unfortunate it is sad and frustrating”.
