In a bid to ensure a sustainable Economic development ,a coalition of community leaders, activists and stakeholders on Saturday 8th of February 2025 launched a campaign advocating for the creation of Nsirimo Local Government Council.
This proposed council as obtained by Newsstarlet aims at providing effective governance, promotion of economic development, and improvement in the quality of life of Nsirimo people.

According to the spokesperson of the advocacy group, EZE ELECT OHAZURUME NSIRIMO AMAISE AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITY, Dr. Charles Chukwuemeka Amanze,the creation of Nsirimo Local Government Council is a necessary step towards addressing the unique challenges and opportunities facing Nsirimo community.
Dr.Amanze maintained that the New Nsirimo Local Government Area that is flanked by some other parts of Communities like Umuogele, Umunwanwa,Obingwa and others if created will bring government closer to the people and enhance participation.
He further added that inclusivity of these Communities whose historical background cannot be complete without acknowledging how they were harboured by Nsirimo will give them a sense of belonging and in turn provide a better living.
“We believe that this council will bring governance closer to the people, enhance participation and representation, and ultimately lead to a better life for our citizens.”
The proposed Nsirimo Local Government Council he said will:
- Provide effective governance and service delivery to the people of Nsirimo
- Promote economic development and job creation
- Improve the quality of life for citizens through better infrastructure, healthcare, education, and other essential services
Amanze also urged the National Assembly, the State Government and other stakeholders to support their call for the creation of Nsirimo Local Government Council with optimism that the creation of the Local Government Area will make a positive impact on the lives of the people and build a brighter future for the Community.
