Some Ministers of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria in Abia State have thrown their weight behind the candidacy of Engr. Enyinnaya Chima Nwafọr and Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyasọ the Governorship/Deputy Governor Candidates of YPP in Abia State.
They offered prayers and moral support to the candidates and urged every member of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria in Abia State to queue behind the NanaOfuji mandate.
The Ministers noted that Dr. Chima Anyasọ is their son who was born, bred, and baptized in the Presbyterian Church of God. Even today, Dr. Chima and his immediate and extended family are still genuine and reliable members of the Presbyterian Church of God, Yaba Lagos.
They said it is unpretentiously right for them to support one of their own.
According to the spokesperson of the group of Ministers, Rev Ibe Uduma Obasi, who said: “the time has come for us the Presbyterian Church Ministers not to sit idly when the issues concerning the development and governance of our home State, Abia State is at the front burner.”
“The Maladministration or a progressive government will be of great concern or benefit to the church, therefore, it is morally right for the ministers and the church to identify the candidates whose visions align with the church aspirations. And NanaOfuji’s Abia Restoration Agenda is such that everyone who loves Abia State will embrace.”
Earlier during the encounter with ministers, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyasọ outlined the Seven (7) governance priorities of the NanaOfuji’s Abia Restoration Agenda: Clearing the backlog of Salary arrears/Pensions through reduction of cost of governance as well as Revenue Enhancement.
He also mentioned Education and Youth Development, Agriculture and Food Security, Commerce and Industrialisation, Infrastructural Development of the State, Providing Reliable Health Schemes and Social Welfare, among others.
