The 2022 August meeting of Amizi Development Union Federated(Women’s Wing) in Amizi Olokoro , Umuahia South LGA of Abia State lived up to the hype as the community, for the first time witnessed exceptional and thrilling event.
The Occasion was said to be a grand affair due to the number of dignitaries it attracted, from the Mayor of Umuahia South LGA Hon.Engr Humphrey Chukwudi Benson to some top government functionaries to furthermore prove to enemies of development in the Community that peace is priceless.
The Chairman of the occasion, Hon.Engr. Humphrey Chukwudi Benson in his address called for unity amongst Women , adding that they contribute to the development of the society with their special qualities .
He expressed belief that the Women can achieve bigger things if they come together to work with one mind as peace will be vital in achieving progress in the community.
He enjoined them to capitalize on the present Mrs Uhiara’s leadership quest for unity to join hands as that will create more rooms for development , saying that Amizi communtiy will not be left out when exploring through communities in Abia State with rich cultural heritage.
The President General Olokoro Clan Development Union Mazi Dike Nzenwa who also spoke to Women charged them to rise above vices that will not bring progress . He called on them to support their President General, Mrs Nwadinma Nnachebe – Uhiara whom he said is gradually bringing the community to limelight with her selfless service.
The occasion under the able leadership of the President General of Amizi Olokoro Development Union Federated, Women’s Wing, Mrs Nwadinma Nnachebe Uhiara who through her exemplified humility in service, brought Women together , became not just a success but a motivation to Women folk and has energized Women of the community through impactful leadership .
It was evident that since her inception into that stage of governance ,leading the Women has brought forth togetherness, friendship and training amongst Women of the Community.
She has impressed from a distance and impacted up closely as these feats could only be achieved by one with a large heart and open mindedness , ofcoures, leadership is ordained by God.
A lot of innovations and successes have been recorded from one accomplished projects to the other .
She could comfortably go to sleep with two eyes closed because of the headway the Amizi Women are making under her leadership.
Mrs Nnachebe – Uhiara could not hide her excitement while speaking with newsstarlet crew on the accomplishments made by the Women for the year 2022.
She added that Amizi Women have affected so many lives through the building of Six classroom blocks and other capacity developmental projects which are laudable for the progress of the community, while expressing hope that the school building will serve as a citadel of learning were the future men and Women of a greater Amizi will be nutured and raised through education.
She further thanked the Abia State government for their support ,most especially the Wife of the governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu ,PhD for her kind gestures towards the welfare of Women as she asks for more support in order to undertake more developmental stride for the community.
The President General also promised to ensure greater empowerments for Amizi Women through her leadership as the next move will be to embark on industrious activities such as building an event center and a large Farmhouse that will enable Women raise funds with it’s proceeds serving a communal purpose.
Amizi is gradually approaching an enviable height following the outcome of the 2022 August meeting.Indeed, credits should be given to Nwadinma Nnachebe- Uhiara for providing leadership and becoming a compass – a beacon and a shoulder that Women could lean on for a better tomorrow in Amizi .
Looking ahead , with the recent unity found in the midsts of Amizi Women, it is now left to be seen other profitable ventures that will elevate the development union as they strive to measure up with other Rural Women in Abia State in terms of competence and standard.
The fall out of the Programme and the full representation of uzzi Women showed that there’s need for togetherness and a unifier, that Nwadinma Nnachebe -Uhiara has demonstrated and should be given the support by all and sundry to crystalize this dream for the good of all.
In summation we can say in our local dialect “let’s follow who know road”.
A better Amizi Olokoro will be beneficial for all!
The 2022 August Conference featured award presentation to noble Women who through one way or the other have affected the Community progressively.
The Awardees includes: Lady Chidinma Benedicta Azuonye ,Lolo Ebere Charity Keme ,Mrs Mary Rose Mbanaso,the Wife of Anglican Bishop , Ikwuano Diocese, Nneudo Florence Obiageri Onyegbule.
The event featured Dance and musical display by Amizi Women .
