The forum of mobilev advertising practitioners of Nigeria has thanked governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his intervention on the ASPIMS illegal levies collection and resolving of the ill-treatment against their members in Abia State by a former revenue contractor Mr. Azubuike Erondu Ihuoma also known as Mopol .
The forum disclosed this during a press conference at the Abia Investment Center, Umuahia after paying a courtesy call to Abia State government .
While reacting to the high-handedness, fragrant disregard to extant taxes and numerous illegal levies laws as it relates to the laws and administration of revenue laws of the federal republic of Nigeria to members of forum nationwide,the group through their President Otunba mike osimen Eboeziegbe condemned the harassments constantly meted on their drivers whenever their vehicles registered in other states plies into Abia state.
But expressed excitement that Mr Azubuike Erondu aka mopol of Zubics Ventures fraudulent activities was subdued by the government having read the letter which shows that his contract has been terminated by the state government.
This development he said has brought relieve to members of the forum nationwide and members of the general public who can now enjoy a lawful treatment on Abia roads by the task force.
He further revealed that each vehicle paid 35 thousand naira and above as against 5500 naira set by the Abia State Government as tariff for the emblem , these according to him led to seizure of many vehicles crossing Abia State for days , adding that owners of these Vehicles pays about Two hundred thousand naira before their vehicles could be released.
“We are also in the know of payments made through him by our members some cooperate bodies which did not reflect on the state revenue database hence the series of harassments on our drivers whenever they come to the Abia State. “
“We also confirm that Mr Azubuike Erondu aka mopol of Zubics Ventures co ected for each vehicle starting from 35 thousand naira only and above as against #5500 set by the Abia State Government as tariff for the Abia state Government emblem. “
The President stated that major losses were incured by the owners of the goods .
The forum promised to ensure members and customers buy only genuine Abia state emblem and as well provide training for their workforce on the use of the novel Abia enforcement app.
They enjoined Aspims to ensure their charges will be as specified by the ABIR and in accordance with the laws of the land,while commending the ABir chairman, mr Celestine Agbara ,the state General Consultant Sir Mac Atasie for the techniques they addopted in the improvement of revenue collections and the convenience of the taxpayer on the roads .
They also thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for addressing the issues of Abia state emblem enforcement and his prompt intervention to stop the criminal act of some of the operators in the state. “
