Sir Chikwe Udensi has promised to venture into road construction of some strategic roads in Aba in order to help the people living in the area.
Udensi disclosed this while on his mid-week Radio programme on Family Love FM monitored by newsstarlet .
The recipient of Zik’s award on innovations while speaking on the programme added that the dilapidated nature of roads in Abia especially Aba gives him concern as he plans to venture into helping the people in PortHarcourt Road in Aba to see how he can contribute towards making some of the roads Motorable after his second phase of the ongoing Palliatives distribution programme for the pensioners and elderly in Abia people.
“One other area that borders me so much is when I visited a friend who stays in PortHarcourt Road area of Aba and I was told that an Okada rider died as a result of bad road .”so I’ve decided that by the time I conclude this second phase of Palliatives , I’m going to start doing something on that PortHarcourt Road .”
He added that his intention was to help make PortHarcourt road Aba Motorable , adding that he has in the past done several roads in Aba.
“I’ll make sure that I put some efforts to make sure that PortHarcourt Motorable . I’ve done it before,I did several roads in Aba.”
Udensi said he has written letters to the federal ministry of works to give approval for some palliatives on the roads , adding that he’s motivated to pursue development with his funds as a way of contributing to the society.
Reacting to the attack on President Muhammadu Buhari’s convoy ,he maintained that it is an indication that the country is no longer safe for everyone as the bandits are sending a message that they’re in charge.
“If the convoy of the President can be attacked, imagine what will happen to many of us”
He described the incident as a very disturbing one saying that the issues about the attack was treated with levity and a clear evidence of incompetent on the parts of the security agencies in the country whom he said are no longer in control of the system .
He further explained that things of enormous concern have not been given attention to by the Federal government, adding that many people held captive by the Boko Haram insurgents especially the CHIBOK girls are yet to be released as issues of insecurity appeared to be treated with some level of disregard.
He urged everyone to be security conscious while expressing worries that Nigeria has become a horrible place to stay by the day to day kidnapping and killings with countless Nigerians being killed.
The security expert stressed the need for Nigerians to take personal safety seriously since the security apparatus have been overwhelmed, adding that nobody should say that self protection of individual lives is not important.
