Udensi helping some elderly people
Sir Chikwe Udensi’s second phase of his Palliatives distribution and programme for the pensioners and elderly in the 17 local government areas of Abia State on Saturday 2nd of July 2022 kicked off at the Arochukwu Civil Hall in Arochukwu LGA.
The beneficiaries who numbered in thousands besieged the Arochukwu Civic Hall to receive the cash distribution by the philanthropist were very happy to have received the money which they used immidiately to buy things at the Nkwo market .
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with our correspondent expressed gratitude to sir Chikwe Udensi as the programme has brought relieve to those who were in need.
Speaking shortly after distributing the monies to the people, Chief Udensi said it was disturbing to see the Elderly people Troupe in their thousands, but expressed excitement that he was able to give out the money to all the people who came for the programme in spite the numbers appearing beyond expectation.
“Very very disturbing percentage,I don’t even know how to access it but I’m happy that everybody went home with money.”
“We were thinking that we were going to have only about Two hundred maybe Three Hundred you see we have in thousands Women Men, Elderly persons ,they were not very happy ,they were very sad but they were happy today that I gave them something , don’t forget that today is Nkwo in Arochukwu so they have to go to market and that’s what brings the real joy in me ,real joy that today I have commenced the second phase of the palliatives for the pensioners and the Elderly persons”
“We are going to complete the 17 local government and we thank God for his mercies.”
Money and bags of Rice were distributed to the Elderly people to the satisfaction of all the beneficiaries who attended to the programme.
Udensi had in the first phase administered medical care ,trained some people in soap making and other skilled programme throughout the 17 local government of Abia State.
Elder Grace Orji who said that the State government has subjected them to untold hardship maintained that Udensi is doing a great job in seeing a turn around for the well- being of the Elderly people in the State.
