An Abia state governorship aspirant on the platform of the Progressives Grand Alliance Chief Chikwe Udensi, has clinched the governorship ticket of the party.
Udensi, polled a total number of 433 votes as he was unanimously nominated unopposed during the party primary election at Villa Roy hotel in Umuahia the State capital on Sunday.
The returning officer Mr Prince Ukaonu, declared the winner of the election.
In his acceptance speech Udensi, thanked the party for nominating him as their flag brearer.
He vowed to make Abia better if elected governor, while he urged his supporters to assiduously pray for him to win the governorship election in 2023.
He said, “I feel great, we will ensure that we take over the state. you can rest assured that I will not disappoint you.
“My plans is to transform Abia and make it great again and things work the way they should work I have no doubts that we can change the narrative and not disappoint Abians
“I will reach out to other aspirants and ask them to join hands with me to make sure that APGA wins election in Abia state.
Meanwhile as at the time of filling this report three other APGA governorship aspirants including Gen N. Ijioma Prof Gregory Ibe, and Barr. Etigwe Uwa, were at Kolping society conference centre in Umuahia conducting another primary election.
