An Interpol Consultant , Sir Chikwe Udensi has Condemned the attacked perpetrated on the people at the Cattle Market in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State by Bandits on Tuesday night .
Udensi who made his feeling known during a Radio interview on Family love FM , monitored by newsstarlet team described the attack on the new Abia cattle market in Omuma Uzo, Ukwa West council area as pathetic and unacceptable.
He commended the Abia State governor,Okezie Ikpeazu for his response ,leadership role in arresting the situation , adding that he showed concern.
APGA Chieftain maintained that government could have averted the crime by being proactive , putting up an adequate security measures as the business avenues requires safety and not the onslaught by hoodlums .
The security expert says that fire brigade approach in solving problems on insecurity has not always yielded the required results and can never be the option in combating crime as preventive measures remains key to,safe guarding a place where goods and services are obtained.
“I’ve insisted that we must have to nib these activities in the bud before they happen”,this fire service approach- let us allow the fire to come on before we go and put it off ,it’s a wrong approach”.
” We don’t have to allow evil things to happen before we start looking for solutions,we must make sure we have a preventive measures”
The cattle dealers had relocated to the area following the demolition of the Waterside cattle market along Ikot Ekpene Road, Ogbor Hill.
