International body’s assistance is needed to help Nigeria now -Udensi

A security expect, sir Chikwe Udensi in his usual media contributions to solutions to nation building has spoken vastly about numerous challenges bedeviling Nigeria in the areas of security and the use of technology in fighting crime.

“it is time to call on the International Community for assistance”,in his words.

He also addressed the issues of permanent voters registration card as he is set to kick off his next phase of palliative programme for the Elderly and Pensioners in Abia State.

A board of trustees member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance,Sir Chikwe Udensi has said that enormous security challenges in the country calls for proactive steps by Federal Government in tackling them.

Udensi made this known during a Radio programme monitored by newsstarlet.

He says it’s disturbing that issues with insecurity have not been arrested despite the various security outfits -the military, paramilitary and other vigilantees Nigeria has ,its still difficult to protect the forests where there’s news about kidnapping in the country.

The security expert says the call by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of ONDO State to International Community to intervene in the security situations of the country is a known fact which lacks efforts by responsible agencies who are meant to protect lives and properties.

He expressed worries that bandits in the forests are using it as a hide out to perpetrate crimes when there are security guards in those areas.

“Dr Akeredolu is not saying anything that we do not know, the only concern we have is that with all these problems , “we are not doing much, we have not even started.”

“In the Forests around the World, civilized World ,when I talk about civilized World I’m not talking outside our neighbors, we’re talking about our neighbors too in Africa even in the sub regions of west Africa we have forests guards we have forests vigilantee,we have park guards.”

“When we know that criminals are in the Forests this is their Haven why do we not have guards to protect them(forests) “.
“You know the number of law enforcement agencies we have in the country today , especially the armed forces, ” you know the Army, Air force, the Navy ,the Police you know the Civil Defense Police, even some other arms carrying agencies like the Customs, Immigration, the civil defense, the DSS and the host of other vigilantees yet we cannot protect our forests” .

He expressed concern that the call for the kidnapped victims by the President, is coming rather too late as the Terrorists continue to dwell in the Sambisa Forest.

Udensi maintained that the government is not doing much in the fight against insurgents and terrorists whom he said have besieged the various forests and holding some communities hostage.

He added that over Nine Million people have died according to what a recent data revealed by a Security Consultant,Kabiru Adamu as Nigeria is sitting on kegs of gun powder with some part already exploded .

He cited these in the security consultants meetings held recently .

“We are all sitting on kegs of gun powder and it will explode soon, parts of it has exploded.”you thought about the mass killings and those who have been held for 85 days ,my concern has been and the concern of most of our people is that more than Three years now ,CHIBOK girls have not been released.
He recalled : “Leah Sharibu of CHIBOK Schools and her colleagues are still being held more than Three years, “.

He added that only about Eleven people were reportedly released since the Kaduna Railway incidents.

The security situation in the Country according to him is worrisome as government has paid a sealed lip to it.
“The security situation in the country today is very troublesome , unfortunately government has paid sealed lips”
He expressed worries that the number of generals and despite procured military equipments meant to fight insurgents, Nigeria is still experiencing difficulties in fighting crimes in the Country, while he posited that to seek for International assistance remains the only solution for Nigeria right now as the leaders does not care .

” When we continiously press government to provide the tools ,provide the funding ,provide the motivation for law enforcement and they were not yielding when it’s falling on a deaf ear what alternative do you have ?.

“The only solution is to seek for help from International bodies and organization.”
“It is only when they have problems or that of their Children are involved that they will care.”

Chikwe said that no place in the country today is safe, adding that government has been very insensitive with security instead they are protecting the elites.

“It has gotten to a stage that no where is safe any more ,they can walk into your offices, your bedroom nobody is safe, there’s no more fear of wherever you are. “

He maintained that the use of technology is very important as it is used around the World to enhance security in the prevention of crime as he added that 90% of crimes around the World are nibbed in the bud.
While he urged the Federal Government to be proactive instead of being reactive with issues of crime.

Sir Chikwe Udensi further called for the continuous process of voter registration exercise in the country, stressing the level of turn out is encouraging, while he urged nigerians to ensure they obtain their PVC.

He called for the right leadership for things to be done properly in the country in his reactions to the issues of Abia Pensioners who were calling for the intervention of Federal Government in the recent staged protest in the State.

Speaking more on his palliative programme for the pensioners next week,Chikwe Udensi urged the government to make it as a point of duty that every governor pays pensioners, adding that a drastic step needs to be taking for the pensioners who have dedicated their service years to be taking care of.

He urged the State Government to take responsibility, adding that it is criminal for government to show negligence to the Elderly who served the State.

He said that he passionately have indulged in the programme for the Elderly and Pensioners in order to contribute in his part but says it’s worrisome that what he has been donating to them may not be enough to solve their problems as it stands now in the State.
