Maintain Cleanliness As God’s Own People,Deputy Governor Exhorts Abians

Abia State Deputy Governor Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, has enjoined Abians to make the environmental sanitation their top priority as that will help in sustaining the health of citizens.

While speaking to residents of Ohafia area on Saturday 29th July, 2023 ,Emetu took the lead in the monthly sanitation exercise held across the state.

The Deputy Governor advised them to desist from dumping refuse in the drainage which results in blockage of water ways.

According to Ikeabia media team,he urged all Abia residents to always observe the monthly environmental sanitation in order to keep the State clean.

“Abia is God’s own State, and cleanliness is next to godliness” posited the Deputy Governor.

He led the exercise at Hospital road, Amaekpu Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government of Abia State where he practically cleared bushes and mobilized a wheel tractor scraper to grade the road, manpower to desilt both sides of the drainage, engagement of a payloader and numbered tipper trucks to evacuate the debris thereof, thereby recovering the actual dimension of the road.

The road connects six villages in the present day Ohafia clan (Isiama Ward precisely), and was abandoned over 20 years ago by the past administrations leaving it at the mercy of grasses and vegetation leading to narrowing of the road and difficulty for cars to navigate freely.

The road maintenance work continues after today.
