Ochiagha Oparaukwu Ibeku Prince Benjamin Benedict Apugo has vowed to support any candidate that will entrone good leadership in Nigeria and Abia.
Apugo who was reacting to the situation of things in Abia State, Apugo maintained that Abia is bushy rotten and lacks proper governance since 24 years , adding that there’s one thing Umuahia north local government have which other local government lacks in Nigeria .
The member of APC national caucus and board of trustees says his interest for 2023 is to vote someone who will be willing to change the present situation in the country.
He cited examples of Dr M I Okpara and General Aguiyi ironsi who were all from Umuahia.
“This is my hometown, I’m an Ibeku Prince , the owner of this land .”
“Look !,there is one thing that Umuahia north local government have other local government in Nigeria doesn’t have it.”
“One is the head of State and Commander in Chief of the Armed forces, General Aguiyi ironsi comes from Umuahia Ibeku here and Dr M.I Okpara former Premier of Eastern Nigeria came from Umuahia Ibeku here.”
” So If you ask me weither there’s been government here (in Abia),it has been so there have never been any government here since 24 years .”
He said that it is shameful to talk about the All Progressives Congress as a Board of Trustees member when they have failed to give employment or appointment to the people from his local government .
“I am an APC man. It is shameful for me to say it because APC did not do anything for me , for my local government for my State here, member of the board of trustees and member national caucus of the APC I have nothing to show even in appointment , nobody from my home. I registered Ikechi Emenike in APC . All these people – Uche Ogah all of them I received them at the stadium but for my home Ibeku nobody the owner of this place because I wouldn’t want to compromise you people know me .so I’m not happy with it.”
Apugo said that the APC Presidential Candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not reached out to him as he’s not concerned about the activities of the party.
He called on Nigerians to shun sentiment and vote as his support for the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party , Peter Obi is not basically on party based on performance, while he added that the emergence of Peter Obi as Nigeria’s President will erase the idea of Biafra in the minds of nigerians.
B. B. Apugo noted that 2023 elections will be critical to the future of Nigeria as political parties will not matter but individuals with pedigree will be voted.
“I have said it that I will not particularly vote about a party, I’ll vote for an individual because of what that individual will do .”
He added that the right candidate will emerge as governor of Abia State come 2023 but maintained that the people must come out to vote with their conscience for the development of the State.
